Meet Schedule

Men's 8-kilometer Race - 9 a.m.

Women's 5-kilometer race - 10 a.m.

 

Course

99% grass, only non-grass running is to cross an asphalt road

5K is a pair of 2.5K loops

8K is one 1.5K loop and a pair of 3.25K loops

*Course will open for inspection on Fri., Nov. 4

 

Teams

Top-five runners on each team will score

Top-seven runners will comprise a complete team for scoring purposes
No unattached runners will be allowed for the collegiate race

 

Awards

Region XIII

Champion and runner-up teams for Region XIII will receive awards for both men's and women's race
Top-seven individuals will receive All-Region First Team awards

Finishers Nos. 8-14 will receive All-Region Second Team Awards

*First place team, plus top-five runners not on the winning team will automatically advance to national championship meet.

Region Coach of the Year - Voted on after the race

Top-Team will recieve an award as SSAC Champions

Top-Seven Individuals will receive All-SSAC Awards
SSAC Coach of the Year  - Voted on after the race

Fee is $50 per team ($50 men, $50 women)

Driving Directions

From Atlanta:

Approx. 1 hr., 20 min.

Take I-75 N to Rome-Canton Exit 290 (formerly exit 125)

Take left off exit, drive 2.5 mi., then road ends at a light

Turn left, then take an immediate right onto Highway 41 North (to reach Highway 411)

Drive 2.8 mi., then take Highway 411 South exit (on right)

Drive 17.3 mi., then take right at light onto East Rome Bypass, also called Rome Loop 1 (sign reads "to Highway 293" because you will later pass Highway 293)

Drive 8.4 mi., then take right at light onto Martha Berry Highway (U.S. Highway 27 North). (you will see Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum at that intersection)

Drive 0.7 mi., then take left into Berry College main entrance


From Birmingham, Alabama:

Approx. 2 hrs., 15 min.

Take I-59 North to I-759 at Gadsden

Take 411 North from Gadsden to Centre (Alabama 9)

Drive to the Georgia state line, Alabama 9 will turn into Georgia State 20 into Rome

Travel into Rome

Turn left onto U.S. Highway 27 (Martha Berry Highway), Floyd Medical Center is at this intersection

Drive on U.S. Highway 27 until you reach the main entrance to Berry College (on left)


From Chattanooga, Tennessee:

Approx. 1 hr., 30 min.

Take I-75 South to Exit 312 (formerly exit 129) (Highway 53)

Take Highway 53 West through Calhoun to Rome (approximately 25 mi.)

Turn right onto Rome Loop 1 (Veterans Memorial Highway) at the light (you will see Battey Machinery Company at that intersection)

Take right at the 3rd light onto Martha Berry Hwy (U.S. Highway 27 North). (you will see Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum at that intersection)

Drive 0.7 mi., then take left into Berry College main entrance


Once on the Berry College campus, take the first right off the traffic circle and follow that street to the Ford Complex, a group of Gothic-style buildings.  Turn right at the fork in the road and continue to follow that road behind the complex.  A soccer field will be on your right, and the road will lead to the Ford Gym parking lot. The course is on the opposite side of the Ford Buildings from the Parking area.
