Berry senior middle blocker Meghan Francis saved her best for the final two matches as the Lady Vikings played a rugged five-match slate this past week. As a result of her sparkling effort, Berry posted a 3-2 mark and Francis was selected as the SSAC Volleyball Player of the Week.

After coasting to a 3-0 victory over crosstown rival and SSAC opponent Shorter College, the Lady Vikings collected 3-0 wins over non-conference clubs, Milligan and Spring Hill colleges. But against No. 17-ranked Campbellsville, Berry dropped a tough 2-3 match, and then lost to No. 23-ranked Mobile, 1-3.

Francis was selected to the all-tournament team in the Berry Invitational. She had an impressive 13 kills against Campbellsville and also had nine kills against Mobile. Her blocking was impressive all week as she logged 19 total blocks, including six blocks in Berry's conference-opening win over Shorter.

Other nominated were: Jessica Angeli (Southern Wesleyan); Christeena Bertinetti (Lee); Sami Lane (Reinhardt); Kasi Runion, Shorter; and Kimber Holt, Faulkner.
