Faulkner senior pitcher Brent DeFoor signed a free agent contract with the Chicago White Sox organization Wednesday and will report immediately to the White Sox rookie league team in Bristol, Va.

DeFoor, a native of Oakman, Ala., was 11-2 with a 2.99 earned-run average during his junior season and was an All-Southern States Athletic Conference selection. He posted an 8-2 record with a 4.72 ERA last season.

"Brent worked out for a few clubs, and is throwing the ball better than ever,'' Barker said. "He had a frustrating senior season, but has been a great contributor to our program. I think he'll do well at the next level.''
