With time running down, Hudson spun, fought off a defender and threw up what some might consider a prayer. The ball found its way through the net just as the buzzer sounded.
Hudson joined three other Lions in double digits with 13 points. Ray Raines scored 13 and pulled down eight rebounds. Micah Hayes scored a team-high 15 points and added five assists. Jeremy Tate added 12 markers for the victors.
Jon Uriarte scored a game-high 17 points, including a 2-for-2 performance from beyond the arc. Uriarte added seven rebounds and two blocks to his line.
Hudson, the SSAC Freshman of the Year, hit a shot in the paint to knot the game at 62 with 13 seconds left in the game. With seven seconds remaining, Uriarte was fouled and stepped to the line to shoot a double bonus. Neither shot would fall, setting up the last-second heroics by Hudson.
With the win, Emmanuel’s record improves to 16-16 and an appearance in the SSAC Tournament Final for the second straight year. Faulkner falls to 17-15 with the loss.
